ReSport Project Collector

AD HOC (FLEXIBLE), 3 – 5 HOURS, MON – SUN

ReSport is our primary community project for 2017. We currently have 0ver 40 local schools across Halton Borough that are collecting unwanted sportswear and sports equipment on a regular basis from pupils and families in the local area, as well as us having drop-off points in all of the local Co-Op stores and Community Centres.

Donated items are then taken to our storage facility and laundered, before being redistributed to individuals and families in need across Halton.

About this Opportunity

We are looking to recruit a volunteer for the role of ReSport Project collector. The role requires the collection of donated sportswear and sports equipment from Schools, Community Centres and shops through Widnes and Runcorn. In most cases, the volume of donations is large and a vehicle is necessary for the collection of the items. Once collected the items must be delivered to our storage facility which is based near The Hive Leisure Park in Widnes. The volunteer will be given specific locations to collect from, on an ad hoc basis, and may involve collections once per week or only once a month, depending on the volume of items that have been dropped off at our drop-off points.

Practical Considerations

Volunteers will preferably be over 18, and able to travel by vehicle to locations throughout Halton. The role will involve lifting and carrying of items which may be heavy so volunteers should consider themselves to be strong and physically fit. Travel expenses can be claimed if required.

Additional Information

We are looking for individuals that are flexible, organised and friendly. Punctuality is also important for this particular role as the drop-off points where collection will take place may only have a narrow window to collect items (schools for example).

A DBS check may be required in some circumstances. References will be required in all cases.

If this role sounds like something that would be of interest and you feel strongly that you could be an asset to the Charity, please contact John at fund@cathiestankevitchfoundation.co.uk or 07958 430 525
