ReSport Storage Co-Ordinators

MONTHLY (FLEXIBLE), 8 – 16  HOURS, MON – SUN

ReSport is our primary community project for 2017. We currently have 0ver 40 local schools across Halton Borough that are collecting unwanted sportswear and sports equipment on a regular basis from pupils and families in the local area, as well as us having drop-off points in all of the local Co-Op stores and Community Centres.

Donated items are then taken to our storage facility, sorted and laundered, before being redistributed to individuals and families in need across Halton.

About this Opportunity

The role of ReSport Storage Co-Ordinator is a very important one and a very responsible position within the Charity. Once donated sportswear and sports equipment has been collected from out drop-off points, it is then brought to our storage facility, where it needs to be sorted into condition, size, sport etc….All items need to be seperated into bundles that can then be collected by our other volunteers in preparation for washing and ironing. Once the items have been returned again in clean condition to the storage facility, they must then be photographed ready to be uploaded to the website.

Practical Considerations

Volunteers will preferably be 14 years+. The role will be based in our storage facility only and will not involve any driving. Travel expenses can be claimed if required.

Additional Information

Individuals interested in this role must have a strong attention to detail and have high personal standards in terms of clothing. An enjoyment of working alone and being focussed is essential. It would be beneficial to the role if the volunteer was familiar with sports brands. Good photography skills would also be desirable for this particular role.

Initially, the role is likely to be for the equivalent of one day per month, which is flexible across numerous days or can be carried out in one full day. Workload would be dependent on the volume of donated items delivered to the storage facility.

A DBS check may be required in some circumstances. References will be required in all cases.
