£239.51 Raised By Lloyds Bank Bikeathon

On Thursday 28th May, the Cathie Stankevitch Foundation teamed up with the staff from the Widnes branch of Lloyds Bank to complete a 200km Bikeathon to help raise funds for the Charities’ ReSport Halton Project (www.resportuk.com)

The event began just after 9am and involved 8 staff members, volunteer David Pennington and our very own John Stankevitch as they tackled the distance which was equivalent to cycling from Widnes to Hull…..almost coast to coast from West to East!!

Despite lots of sweat, sore legs, and raised heart-rates, the 200km was finally achieved just before 4.30pm and in the process a fantastic £239.51 was donated by the very generous Lloyds Bank customers.

John Stankevitch, Founder of the Cathie Stankevitch Foundation said “I want to say a huge thank you to Assistant Branch Manager Ewa Patel for organising the event and for ‘encouraging’ the staff to take part throughout the day and it is only fitting that I also say thank you to Sarah, Rose, David, Lorraine, Cathy, Daniel and Bank Manager Steve, for their fantastic efforts.

On completing the challenge, in a brilliant gesture, Lloyds Bank decided that they would match the funds raised by the customers throughout the day which gave us a grand total of 479.02 towards our ReSport Halton Project”.
